Create a booking limit

You can set booking limits to control how many spots can be reserved by:

  • A single customer

  • Specific credit or membership types

This helps manage high-demand classes and prevent overbooking by any one person or pass type.

Once the limit is reached, customers will be unable to book into the class and will receive the following message:

Booking limits will not impact ClassPass or FitReserve reservations.

Getting Started

Navigate to Configuration from the left panel > Booking Limits > New Booking Limit.

Name the limit.

Limit Types

There are two types of limits:

  • Reservation Limit: Number of reservations a customer can make per class, including guests

    • EX: If you create a Reservation Limit of “2”, a customer can book up to two reservations in a class. This could be for two guests or themselves and a guest.

  • Credit and Membership Limit: Set spot limits in a class on membership and credit types.

    • You can add up to five Credit & Membership Limits. You can add an unlimited number of Credit and/or Membership Types to a given limit.

A reservation will be blocked if it exceeds any one of the limits; it doesn’t need to exceed all of them.

Activating the Booking Limit

Select whether this new Booking Limit will be active or inactive by selecting the Active checkbox.

  • Active: Will appear as an option in the drop-down field when creating/editing a class

  • Inactive: Does not appear as an option in the drop-down field when creating/editing a class.

    • If made inactive, it's removed from all classes it was applied. If reactivated, it will not reapply to those classes.

Adding a Limit to a Class

To add a limit to a class, access the class through the:

  • Schedule in the left side menu > select the class > Edit Class

  • Or through the class roster > ellipses > Edit Class

Under Advance Settings, add the limit under Booking Limit. You can add one limit per class.

New reservations will be subject to the limit. Reservations made before a limit is added to a class will not be impacted.

Reservations made in Admin

Employees with Admin booking permissions can book customers into class without restriction, regardless of limits. All reservations using a credit or membership tied to a limit count toward that limit, whether booked by the customer or through Admin.

Once the limit is reached, customers can’t book the class. Admin users can still book customers even if the limit is reached.

Booking limits do not apply to employees when they make reservations for themselves.
