How do I make adjustments to a membership when selling it?

Adjusting a membership's Contract Start and Bill options directly in the POS

You can make two adjustments to a membership while selling it through the Admin Point of Sale:

  • Membership start

  • Billing at the time of sale or when the membership starts


Adjusting when the Membership Starts

When you select a membership in the POS, you will be presented with a modal that provides details about the membership. Click Contract Start to adjust the membership start date:

  • Today - Membership is active the day the customer purchases it.

  • First Use - Membership is active upon first check-in, late cancel or no-show.

  • Specific Date - Specify an exact date when the membership becomes active.

Once you change the membership start setting, you must select “Save” and then proceed to add the membership to the customer’s cart.


Adjusting when the Membership Bills

If a membership is set to start on “First Use” or a “Specific Date,” then you can also dictate whether the customer should be:

  • Bill Now at the time of sale

  • Bill on Start: when the membership becomes active

    • Choosing to bill the customer when the membership starts will create a pending order in the customer account that will be charged when the customer uses the membership or when the membership hits the specified start date.

    • Discounts can not be applied to Bill on Start memberships.
