Only memberships scheduled to start on a specific date can be modified in a customer's profile.
*Note: If you edit the start date for a customer's membership that has not activated yet, the customer will not receive an updated receipt with the new activation date. Additionally, the original receipt will not update to reflect the change.
You may consider adding a note in the customer's profile to document the change of start date.
Updating a Membership's Start Date
In the customer profile, memberships with the status “Pending Start Date” can be edited to set a new start date. When editing the membership start date, this is done in the customer’s account and cannot be done in bulk for memberships already sold. This limitation exists because memberships with fixed start dates are tied to specific calendar dates, ensuring consistency across all purchases, whereas variable start dates depend on individual purchase or session dates.
These memberships cannot be frozen until they start.
To change the start date on a “Pending Start Date” membership, select the ellipsis on the right side of the membership card in the customer’s account. You will see an option for ‘Change Start Date.’ Remember, this option is only available for memberships in the “Pending Start Date” status.
When you select the Change Start Date option on a membership, you are presented with a screen showing the current start date with the ability to pick a new start date. You are only able to change the membership start date to a date after today. You cannot select a date that has already passed.
*Note: If the “Pending Start Date” membership has pending reservations, you’re only able to select a new start date that is before the earliest pending reservation.
