How do I configure a discount?

To create a new Discount, navigate to Products > Discounts > New Discount.

Discount Type and Value

All discounts will require:

  • Title: This will appear on the customer’s receipt.

  • Discount Type: Discount Code or Automatic

    • Automatic: Discounst the cart automatically based on the parameters

    • Discount Code (128 character limit): Must be entered at checkout to receive the discount

      • Discount Codes must be alphanumeric characters and are not case-sensitive

      • Multiple Codes can be added to the discount separated by commas

      • If a Discount Code is selected, the code(s) can be entered at checkout to receive the discount.

  • Discount Value: Percentage or Fixed Dollar Amount off the cart

    • A Percentage discount will apply to all eligible products in the cart. Ex. 10% off for "Holiday 10 Packs" will apply to all "Holiday 10 Packs" in your cart

    • If the discount is a Fixed Amount, it applies to only one item per eligible product in the cart, even if multiple are added

Once saved, you cannot edit the Discount Type or change Percentage to Fixed Amount and vice versa, though you can update the actual numerical % or $ amount.


Location and Product Settings

Location Settings allows you to apply the discount to all locations or limit it to specific locations.

Product Settings designated which products are eligible for the discount.

  • Include specific products: Designate the discount-eligible products

  • Include all products from these categories: Select a product category to apply the discount to all products in the category

    • Exclude products from selected categories: Toggle on to exclude specific products from the eligible categories

User Segments

User Segment determines who is eligible for the discount.

  • Everyone

  • Specific Tag: Based on User Tags that can be applied to an account

    • Limited to one tag per discount

  • First Timer: A first timer is anyone who has no reservation history

  • Membership Holders: Customers with a specific Membership on their account


Discount Order Limits

  • Discounted Orders Per Customer: Number of orders for which the discount can be applied per customer.

  • Company-wide Discounted Order Limit: Numer of orders for which the discount can be applied across your customer base. For example, 100 carts can be sold using this discount.


Timeframe

  • Start date and time (local time): Define when the code is valid.

  • End date and time (local time): Define when the code becomes inactive.

To disable and make a discount inactive, set the End Date/Time to the current or past date and time.
