When creating a livestream or video-on-demand class, there are three configuration steps:
Class Type
Indicating if a class type is Livestream allows for additional capabilities. Navigate to Configuration from the left panel > Class Types > Add Class Type. Mariana Tek requires third-party platforms like Zoom or Microsoft Teams for hosting livestreams, as it does not natively host video content.
Fill in the empty fields > set the Livestream or Video on Demand > Save Changes.
We recommend adding information on how and/or when they will be sent the link to the class in the Class Type description. The description will appear on the app and website. Ensure the description includes clear instructions for accessing the livestream, such as the platform being used and any necessary steps to join.
Memberships and Credits
For memberships and credits used to make a reservation for a livestream class, the membership/credit type must have Livestream or Video on Demand enabled. Note that livestream memberships or VOD cannot currently be sold via mobile apps due to Apple and Google policies. Members must purchase these through the website and then use the mobile app to book classes.
Scheduling a Livestream Class
When a class type configured as Livestream or Video on Demand is added to the schedule, the following fields are available:
Livestream URL: Must provide one from a provider such as Zoom or Teams
Use Livestream URL in all Class Series: Only displays if its a recurring class and a Livestream URL has been added
If you update the URL of a livestream class and do not use this feature and select Update Class > Update This And All Future Classes, the URL will only be updated for that specific class.
Auto Check-in All Users: Contact support to complete setup
It runs 5 minutes after class starts and retries once an hour if someone is missed. The customer will not be no-showed and not penalized.
Only standard reservations are checked in, standby, waitlist, late reservations, and already checked-in users are excluded.
You can enable the feature up until class start time.
On the class roster and schedule, livestreams will be labeled as the following including if they do not have a Livestream URL.
Once a link has been added to the class, the link will be automatically sent to customers at the pre-set time before class.
If ClassPass is turned on and has access to the live-streaming classes on the schedule, the livestream class URL is automatically shared with ClassPass.
Livestream Link & Instructions Email
When a class is marked as livestream, and a URL is added, an email with the link is sent to the customers. The email is sent to all customers on the active roster, including unconverted guests with an email address on file. Ensure the email template includes clear instructions for accessing the livestream, such as login details or troubleshooting steps.
The following items can be customized in the email:
Enable/disable: disabled by default
Contact support to change
When the email is sent: defaults to 20 minutes before class
Contact support to change
If a customer makes a reservation within the window or moves from the standby/waitlist to the active roster, they will immediately receive the email.
