Occasionally, you may receive inquiries about specific credit card charges from your customers.
To find the information they’re looking for, you’ll pull up the customer's account by clicking “Find Customers” on the top right of the page. Then, search for the customer’s name or email address. Once you’ve found their account in the list of search results, select the customer’s account. Click on purchases in the left menu to see a list of all transactions for that customer.
If you are unable to find the customer’s account when searching in Find Customer you can take the following steps:
Go to the Reports section in the left navigation menu, select Finance, and then select the report called “Payment Transactions”.
The date on the bank statement may not correspond exactly to when the charge was processed in Mariana Tek. Filter the report to 2-3 days before the date listed on the bank statement, including the date on the bank statement that was provided.
Ask for the last 4 digits of the credit card charged and the total amount charged, and look in the report for those 4 digits in the column called “Payment Label”. If there were a high volume of charges that day it may be easier to export the report and filter to find the matching digits.
Once you find the matching payment transaction look at the column called “Customer Name” to confirm with the customer inquiring the name on the account the charge was associated with. You can also use the broker column to see who processed the transaction. That will either be the customer, meaning the customer who completed the transaction in the app or on the website themself, or an employee who completed the transaction through the admin POS.
