How do I use the Sales Tax by Month - Detail report?

The Sales Tax by Month - Detail report surfaces the collected sales tax for each product. All Finance reports are in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).

This report is useful for:

  • Viewing the sales tax totals by product and location.

  • Viewing the quantity sold by product.

  • General accounting purposes.


Pulling up the Report

  1. Navigate to Reports from the left panel > Finance > Sales Tax by Month - Detail > View.

  2. It's important to note that the dates chosen within the calendar picker will surface data for that entire month.

  3. Apply any additional filters:

    • Currency

    • Fulfillment Location

    • Product Type


Understanding the Report

The Sales Tax by Month - Detail report includes 10 data fields:

  1. Product: Name of the product.

  2. Product Type:

    • Accessories

    • Clothing

    • Credits

    • Custom

    • Default

    • Email Credit Gift Cards

    • Email Gift Cards

    • Equipment

    • Food and Beverage

    • Memberships

    • Penalty Fees

    • Physical Credit Gift Cards

    • Physical Gift Cards

    • Rentals

    • Water

  3. Fulfillment Location: The studio location tied to the purchase.

  4. Purchase Location:

    • In-Store: Any sales processed through the POS.

    • E-Commerce: Any sales via your studio's website or app.

  5. Month: Year-Month

  6. Tax Record: A specific tax being charged in an area.

  7. Revenue: Total revenue for a product for the purchase location at the fulfillment location for a given month.

    1. If your studio has multiple taxes applied to the same product, do not use the Revenue column to calculate the total sales. The sale will be listed multiple times for each tax rate. Duplicates will need to be removed before the column can be added up.

  8. Quantity: Quantity of product sold for a given month for the purchase location at the fulfillment location for a given month.

  9. Currency: Tied to the location.

  10. Tax Collected: Tax collected for a product for the purchase location at the fulfillment location for a given month.
