What is a chargeback?

Credit card holders can dispute (or chargeback) purchases they believe were processed fraudulently or without their knowledge or permission.

Chargebacks occur when your business is notified via the contact email on file. You have the right to submit evidence to dispute the chargeback if it is submitted before the deadline. The link to submit will be included in your chargeback notification email.

The purchase that is subject to a chargeback cannot be refunded while the dispute is still being processed.

For an overview of this process, please see the video below and reach out to support@marianatek.com with any questions relating to your own chargebacks.

It is recommended that you track dispute notifications in a spreadsheet, including the initial notification date, dispute number, customer name, transaction amount, evidence submission date, and final notification date. This will help understand and track the overall chargeback situation and help submit evidence promptly.

If a dispute is lost, the refund will typically be taken from a payout within a day or two of the notification. Tracking this information is the easiest way to reconcile payouts and understand how chargebacks influence your finances.

It is important to remember that Mariana Tek does not control the timing of chargebacks. If a customer drops a dispute, it is up to the bank to finish the dispute process.
