What is a Stripe Reconciliation Report?

The Stripe Reconciliation Report plays a pivotal role in the broader financial reconciliation process by providing a comprehensive summary, which allows studios to track and clarify net payouts, including adjustments for refunds, chargebacks, and processing fees.

The Stripe Reconciliation Report is sent out weekly, every Wednesday (with allowances for holidays), to help your studio fully reconcile. The report includes:

  • original transaction date

  • amount charged

  • stripe fees

  • date of payout

The SRR report is needed because of customer chargebacks. When a client disputes a transaction, your studio will be notified and updated on the resolution process. When a studio loses a dispute, those funds are removed from your payout. This means you could suddenly see a daily payout amount substantially lower than expected because of a purchase made months ago.

Mariana Tek does not get updated when a chargeback occurs. At no point during or after the dispute process is there a change to a transaction's status within Mariana Tek. The SRR will include all chargeback dispute resolutions. Due to chargeback dispute resolutions, there can be a difference between the Payment Transactions—UTC report and the SRR. This is because Stripe knows about chargebacks, but Mariana Tek does not.

Additionally, refunds can be processed at a different pace than regular transactions, which is why the reports might differ. The Payment Transactions - UTC report might read confusingly based on the timing of a refund. The SRR will help clarify any refund processing. By comparing refunds listed in the SRR to entries in the Payment Transactions - UTC report, irregularities due to timing differences can be identified and resolved more efficiently.

If you are not receiving the Stripe Reconciliation Report, reach out to support@marianatek.com or your account manager. Include your studio name and specify that you are inquiring about the Stripe Reconciliation Report when reaching out to ensure a faster response.
