A mobile check-in reminder is a local push notification reminding customers to check in for their standard or standby reservations booked using the Mariana Tek app.
What is a local push notification?
A local push notification is scheduled by an app locally on the mobile device and then delivered by the same device.
Let’s say I have the Mariana Tek app installed on my iPhone. When I book a standard or standby reservation using the Mariana Tek app on my iPhone, the local push notification is scheduled and displayed on my iPhone.
If I booked my reservation using ClassPass or from your studio's website. I won't receive a push notification because I didn't use the Mariana Tek app to book my reservation.
A scheduled check-in reminder for a reservation booked through the customer app will only be removed if the reservation is canceled through the customer app.
The check-in reminder notification will still appear on the customer’s phone if:
canceled by an employee in Admin
canceled by the customer on the studio's website
How do Mobile Check-In Reminders work for Standard Reservations?
Customers book a standard reservation using the iOS or Android Consumer App.
A local push notification is created on the customer’s iPhone or Android.
The local push notification will pop up for the customer when the mobile check-in window starts for their standard reservation.
Customers tap on the local push notification and are directed to the app’s Home screen.
On the Home screen, customers will see the check-in button for their reservation and tap on it.
Customers are checked into class!
How do Mobile Check-In Reminders work for Standby Reservations?
Customers book a standby reservation using the iOS or Android Consumer App.
A local push notification is created on the customer’s iPhone or Android.
The local push notification will pop up for the customer when the mobile check-in window starts for their standby reservation.
The local push notification prompts customers to check in with the front desk for their standby reservation. Note: Tapping on the notification will open the app to the Home screen.
The customer checks in with the Front Desk Team.
Customers are checked into class!
How do Mobile Check-In Reminders work for Waitlist Reservations?
At this time, mobile check-in reminders will not be scheduled for waitlist reservations. Class reminders for waitlist reservations will be part of a new feature later this year.
What happens when customers book reservations when the Mobile Check-In Window is already active?
Customers book a standard reservation using the iOS or Android Consumer App, and the Mobile Check-In Window is Active.
In the Reservation Confirmation Screen, customers are prompted in-app to check into class. No push notification is triggered.
Customers tap on the ‘Check In Now’ button.
Customers are checked into class!
