Purchased, complimentary, and migrated credit packages have a different nuance for when the credits will expire. This article will go over each type to understand their differences.
Purchased Credit Packages
If a customer purchases a credit package, the expiration date is determined by the expiration set on the package and the date/time of purchase.
If the credit package is set to expire in 3 days, the expiration date is set to exactly 72 hours after the purchase. For example, if the purchase happens on 4/26 at 5:00 pm. the credits will expire on 4/29 at 5:00 pm.
Complimentary Credit Packages
For complimentary credits, the default expiration date is midnight local time on the selected expiration date at the very start of the day. For example, if you gave someone a comp credit that is set to expire on Friday the 17th, it will expire at midnight on the 17th.
Migrated Credit Packages
Migrated Credits expire at midnight UTC. This means they will expire the day before the expiration date, their local time. For example, midnight UTC March 25th = 5 pm PDT March 24th.
