Bulk membership freezing lets your studio temporarily pause multiple memberships at once. When applied, the freeze preserves the remaining time until the next billing date, delaying the upcoming renewal and payment processing accordingly. The bulk freeze can be used to:
Freeze memberships
The freeze will be based on specific membership contracts, not on a list of customers.
Extend current freezes
Before continuing, make sure to read how frozen memberships are managed.
Initiate Bulk Request
Bulk freezing memberships must be initiated by support. A studio admin needs to contact Mariana Tek support and include the following
Business reason for the freeze (e.g., temporary studio closure for repairs)
The freeze start and end dates
If the closure is temporary, ensure your classes are canceled during this time to avoid reservations and no-show penalties.
Frozen memberships cannot be unfrozen in bulk.
While support approves your request, locate which membership contracts you would like to freeze. Record the following information and make sure it's listed the same as within Mariana Tek:
Membership contract name
Membership ID: located in Products > Memberships > Contracts > select the correct membership > find ID in the URL.
Once approved, support will provide a form for you to complete. Freeze requests take 2β3 business days to process and are not completed on weekends or holidays. Support will notify you once the freeze has been applied.
Freeze Behavior
Understanding how the system behaves when a bulk freeze is in effect is crucial:
Memberships in Payment Failure: Memberships with unresolved payment issues will not be frozen. If a customer updates their payment method and the missed payment is successfully collected, their membership will return to active status.
Billing Delays: The freeze preserves the time between the start date and the next billing period. This delays the membership renewal and payment processes compared to normal schedules.
Existing Frozen Memberships: Running a bulk freeze does not affect memberships that are already frozen. Their original freeze dates remain unchanged.
