You will first need to add pay rates to your instructor profiles. When adding the pay rate field, add the per-class or the per-head rate. The calculation is performed at the report level, depending on whether you want it to be calculated as per-head or per-class.

To locate the Instructor Payroll report within Insights, navigate to the Business Performance > Instructor Payroll.

On the left-hand bar, you can filter the report by date range (of the class date), location (when in corporate view), instructor, and class type. In most cases, you will select the date range only.

Select the way you want the report to calculate the pay.

Each calculation type is explained below:

Per-class rate - the instructor is paid a set $ amount per class regardless of attendance.

Per-head rate (excluding no-shows) – the total attendance for all classes in the date range is totaled and multiplied by the $ rate.

Per-head rate (including no-shows) – the total attendance plus the total number of no-shows in the date range is multiplied by the $ rate.

After selecting a type, the report will automatically load in the area below. This will list each instructor and their total pay. Depending on the calculation type, it will also show the number of classes or total attendance.

You can click on the arrow next to an instructor’s name to expand. This will give you a breakdown of the pay earned for each class.

You can download the full report by clicking the download icon at the top right of the table.

Additional Details:

  • Payroll calculations will only take place from the date the pay rate is first added. It will not apply to classes that occurred before the pay rate was added to the instructor’s profile.

  • When a pay rate is updated in Mariana Tek, it takes effect for the day of the change. Any classes before the day of changing the rate will be calculated at the old rate. Any classes on the day of the change and future classes will be calculated at the new rate.

  • It can only report on per-class or per-head rate set in Mariana Tek. It cannot do a combination of class and per-head, or bonus rates.

  • The rate set in Mariana Tek can be considered as "per class" or "per head." It is when you run this report that the calculation is performed.

  • If you have some instructors on a per-class rate and some on a per-head rate, you will need to run the report twice and check the rates of the particular instructors.
