How do I authenticate my sending domain?

Authenticate your sending domain so Xplor Growth can send email from your business address and reach inboxes.

Written by Luna

Before you can send emails from your business email address through Xplor Growth, you need to authenticate your sending domain.

What Is a Domain?

Your domain is the part of your business email address that comes after the @ symbol.

You need a custom domain to send emails through Xplor Growth.

Your sending email address must use a domain owned by your business, such as hello@yourstudio.com. You can't use personal or free email domains such as @gmail.com, @outlook.com, or @yahoo.com.

Before you can send emails from hello@yourstudio.com through Xplor Growth, we need to verify that your business owns and controls yourstudio.com.

That verification process is called domain authentication.

Why Is Domain Authentication Required?

Domain authentication tells email providers like Google and Yahoo: “Yes, this business owns this domain, and Xplor Growth has permission to send email on its behalf.”

This helps:

  • Improve the chances of your emails reaching your clients' inboxes

  • Reduce the chance of emails being sent to spam or junk

  • Protect your domain from being used by unauthorized senders

  • Allow your Xplor Growth emails to be sent using your business domain

Without domain authentication, email deliverability may be affected.

What Do I Need to Do?

You have two options to complete domain authentication.

Option 1: Have Our Team Help You — Recommended

If you are currently in Onboarding, our team will work with you to complete the authentication.

You only need to provide access to your company's domain settings (i.e., admin access to GoDaddy, Google Domains, or Squarespace). Our partner, IPStudio, will email you the details and access request.

To get started or confirm your domain status, contact support.

If you are no longer in Onboarding or are changing domains, we partner with IPStudio to complete your Domain Authentication. Click here to initiate your request.

Option 2: Have Your Developer or IT Team Complete It

If you have a web developer, IT team, or someone who manages your domain, they can complete the authentication for you.

Contact support and request the authentication records your developer will need. Here is a sample email:

Hi Xplor Growth team.

I want to authenticate our sending domain. Can you please provide the records my developer needs to install?

Our sending domain is [yourdomain.com].

Once your developer adds the required records, let Xplor Growth Support know so our team can confirm authentication is complete.

A Few Things to Know

Use an email address from your authenticated domain.

Once your domain is authenticated, your Xplor Growth "From" email address should use that same domain.

You can confirm these settings in Xplor Growth > Settings > Emails.

You can update your Default Sending Profile in Mariana Tek under Locations.

You can also add additional verified emails using the same domain. For example, if you authenticate yourstudio.com, you can send from addresses such as hello@yourstudio.com or marketing@yourstudio.com.
