A customer’s current membership status determines whether you can terminate the membership or keep it active when refunding a membership renewal fee.
Refunding a membership payment does not automatically cancel the membership.
These are the membership statuses that allow you to keep the membership active when refunding a membership renewal fee:
Active
Ding Failure
Frozen
Payment Failure
To process the refund, the membership has 1 of the 4 statuses above:
(1) Find the membership renewal fee that you’d like to refund under “Purchases” on the customer’s account.
(2) Click on the menu for the order and select “Issue refund”.
Before proceeding, carefully review the order details to avoid errors, as refunds cannot be reversed once initiated.
(3) If you’d like to terminate the membership, select “Terminate Membership”. When processed, the membership will be terminated immediately, and all future reservations associated with this membership will be canceled.
(4) If you’d like to keep the membership active with its current membership status, select “Keep Active”. When processed, the membership will retain its current status, and all future reservations associated with it will remain. If the "Keep Active" option is not immediately visible in the refund pop-up window, ensure you scroll down to locate it.
These are the membership statuses that don’t allow you to keep the membership active when refunding a membership payment:
Pending Customer Activation
Pending Start Date
Pending memberships have not been activated. As a result, keeping the membership active is not available when refunding payment for a pending membership.
