If a customer's card is saved to a gateway, how are payments processed if they are charged at a different gateway?

With Stripe, payments will always be processed through the gateway associated with the purchase location--the gateway that the card is saved to does not matter.

For example, if a customer's card is saved in San Diego and they use their card in NYC, their card will process through the NYC payment gateway (the funds and revenue will be attributed to NYC).
