Gift cards can be sold as a physical or email option and can be categorized into two types:
cash value gift cards (e.g., $100 cards)
credit package gift cards (e.g., a 10-credit pack for classes or services).
Gift Cards for Credit Packages
Email or physical gift cards for credit packages are not created under the Products section; instead, they are created under the details of the credit package itself. To create a gift card for a credit package, select Email gift card and/or Physical gift card when creating/editing a credit package in Products > Credits > Credit Package.
When the box is checked, the system automatically creates a product that must be added to the Buy Page for customers to purchase. Ensure that the original credit package product name does not contain terms like "gift card" to avoid confusion. The auto-generated gift card titles help distinguish between standard credit packages and their corresponding gift card versions.
Gift cards for credit packages can be used based on the location permissions of the credit package.
Creating Gift Cards for Dollar Amounts
To create a gift card for a dollar amount, select Products > Create New Product.
Fill out the required information:
Title: Name the gift card
Description: Provide a brief description
Product Type: Select a Physical Gift Card or Email Gift Card
Vendor: (optional)
Privacy Settings: Is the product available to all or only to those with an account?
For tracking reasons, we don't recommend selling a gift card to a customer without an account.
First Timers Only
Then select, "Create product". Next, you'll fill out the fields for:
Cash Value: Must match the sale price.
SKU and Barcode: These will be auto-generated if left blank.
Sale Price: Must match the cash value.
At this time, you cannot discount a gift card. i.e., Selling a $75 gift card with a value of $100.
Unit Cost: This field is optional.
Select whether or not you'll track Inventory.
If you are a single-location studio or do not wish to make this gift card inactive at another studio, click Continue once more to save.
If you are in a multi-studio location and would like to make the gift card inactive at another studio location, click "Select locations" where you can make the gift card inactive by the studio.
Gift cards with cash value are global and can be used across locations, as long as the gift card's currency matches the currency used at the location(s).
