Membership and Credit Types both have the option to set a Guest Allowance. This can be set to Members and Guests, Members Only, or Guests Only. However, how the usages are distributed for Memberships and Credits is different.

Guest Allowance options

Credit Packages

When selecting Members and Guests on a Credit Type, customer and guest usage pull from the Credit Quantity set on the Credit Package.

For example, if you have a 10-credit pack, the credits can be split between you and your guest however you would like.

Membership Contracts

When selecting Members and Guests on a Membership Type, you must set the usages for each on the Membership Contract. Customer Usage and Guest Usage do not interact with each other. This means if you use all your Guest Usages, you can not use a Customer Usage to bring a guest and vice versa. If you want the Contract to allow guests, you can add a Guest Usage greater than 0.
