Can customers book an appointment but pay later?

Book Now Pay Later for Appointments

Written by Jason Wiese

When an appointment is created in Admin or the Biz App, it can be configured to allow the customer to pay at check-in. This means a credit package is not required to schedule the appointment.

If a consumer books an appointment on your website or mobile app, they must pay immediately.

When creating an appointment, select Pay Later next to the customer > Add Appointment. The customer will be marked as unpaid, and payment must be collected before checking in.

Required Credit Card

The customer must have a valid credit card on their account. A valid credit card means:

  • The credit card does not expire before the appointment date, or, if a recurring booking is made, before the first occurrence.

  • The credit card is not in payment failure.

Select Add New Card and complete the following fields to add a valid card. The option to add a credit card is only available in Admin. The Biz App will prompt you to log in to Admin.

  • Where will this card be used?: Determines the location where the credit card is saved.

  • Credit card number

  • Name

  • Zip/Postal

Apply Payment

Unpaid appointments will appear yellow on the schedule.

Admin

To add payment, click on the appointment > click the three-dot icon next to the customer > Apply Payment.

If the customer has a valid payment option, select it from the dropdown, then select Apply. If not, select Add New Credit and progress through the POS to add one to their account.

Biz App

To add payment, click on the appointment > click the customer name > Apply Payment > select the payment method > Apply Payment

Recurring Appointments

For recurring appointments, the payment can't be applied to the series, only each individual appointment.
