Customers can connect their wearable device to bring their workout data right into the app. See metrics for completed classes so customers can get more value from every session and see their workout data in one place.
Metrics include:
Average heart rate (bpm)
Calories burned (active calories)
Both metrics are measured over the scheduled start-to-end window of the class you attended. Customers can choose to show both metrics, or just one, in their app settings.
Configuration
The wearable integration is available for:
iOS Apple Health
iOS app version 3.67.1+
Android Health Connect
Android app version 1.53.0+
In the consumer app, customers navigate to Settings > Health Settings > Connect.
Toggle on the desired metrics > Allow.
The feature works the same way on iOS and Android. The difference is where your data comes from and where you manage permissions.
On iOS:
Health platform: Apple Health
Permission screen: iPhone Settings > Apps > Health
On Android:
Health platform: Health Connect
Permission screen: Health Connect > App permissions
What You Need to See Your Metrics
To see your health metrics in the app, all of the following must be true:
You're on the correct app version.
iOS app version 3.67.1+
Android app version 1.53.0+
You've connected the app to Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android), and allowed the app to read heart rate, active calories, or both.
You were checked in to the class.
Display
Metrics will display on the:
Reservation Details
Reservation History
Stats Page
Privacy
We only read your heart rate and active calories. We never write anything back to Apple Health or Health Connect.
Your health values are read on your device, displayed to you, and then discarded. They're not sent to Mariana Tek or your studio, or included in analytics.
Studio staff can't see your heart rate or calorie data.
You can revoke access at any time in iPhone Settings (iOS) or Health Connect (Android). Once revoked, your metrics will stop appearing.
FAQ/Troubleshooting
"I connected my health app, but I don't see any metrics."
Work through these steps in order:
Check that you were checked in to the class. Metrics only show for classes with a checked-in status.
Check your read permissions in your device settings. See "What You Need to See Your Metrics" above for the exact settings path.
Confirm your device was recording during class. The app reads data from the class's scheduled start-to-end window. Open Apple Health (iOS) or Health Connect (Android) and check that heart rate and/or active calorie entries exist for that time window.
"My Health Settings say everything's set up, but I still don't see data." (iOS only)
This message means iOS has already asked for permission, not that you granted access. Apple doesn't let apps see whether you granted or denied access, so the app can't detect a denial or prompt you again.
To fix this, check your permissions directly in iOS:
Navigate to Settings > Apps > Health > Data Access & Devices > [App name].
On iOS 17 or earlier: Settings > Health > Data Access & Devices > [App name].
Make sure Heart Rate and/or Active Energy are toggled on, then return to the app. No reinstall or sign-out needed; metrics are re-read fresh each time.
"I see metrics on some past classes, but not others."
This is expected. Each class is evaluated on its own scheduled time window. If you attended a class without wearing your watch, that class won't have metrics, even if the next class does.
