3D Secure Authentication for a sale is required when a studio in the UK, Canada, Australia, or Japan manually types in a credit card in the POS in Admin. This is due to "3D Secure," an extra security measure within Stripe that is present in these countries when credit cards are manually entered for transactions.
The customer will need to provide the studio employee with the passcode that is sent to their phone via text message before the transaction can be completed within the Mariana Tek POS.
However, if the credit card was already stored on the customer's profile or was run using the Stripe terminal, the 3D Secure Authentication is not required.
For studios in Japan, the 3DS authentication will be prompted when adding the credit card by an employee or by the customer in their account.
